Joyeux Anniversaire

So today I woke up at 12:00PM. I just couldn't wake up. Once I got ready, I went downstairs to say hello to everybody. Sophie (Françoise's daughter) was their with her daughter and her husband, Bénoit. They were very nice. Then Alan and his family came a litte later. There was 16 people in all eating lunch. The lunch was curry and then 2 cakes to celebrate Marc's birthday and Alan's daughter, Karla's, birthday. Once we were done with lunch, everybody left and went to go to the pool.

Right before I went to the pool, Veronique, Alan's wife, and I went to go pick up Matteo at his tennis practice. Once we arrived back at the house, there were many people swimming, tanning, and playing pétanque. Me, Alan, and Jacque (Friend of the family) made a team and played against,Marc, Bénoit (later replaced by Lorran), and another friend of the family. We played in triples. At first I didn't do too well but I then got the hang of it. At the end, my team had won 2 games out of 3. After pétanque, everybody began to slowly leave. I said good-bye to everybody. I'm sort of dissapointed that everyone is leaving since it was so much fun to play pétanque with them and to chat with them.

Now that everybody is gone, everyone is relaxing and enjoying the rest of the day. This week, I'm going to Marseille! I cannot wait.

Cool that you go to play Petanque. It's just like boccee ball so you'll be able to play with Kevin on his new court and with me when you get back.

Your life is going to be soooo boring when you come back... You ARE coming back, right?... We miss you but enjoy your summer with you through your blog, and it is great!!

Matt is totally right! We will have to have a big tourney in Tennessee when we can get the whole famn damily to come up for a visit.

Our court is a little more "rustic" but that allows for some interesting bounces and a bit of a home court advantage.

We are hoping that a couple of dead spots in our grass come back before the big bocce tourney for Ben's birthday.

I hope you see Zizou in Marseilles.
